Good news below. The much anticipated shortlist for the 2012 Burt Award for African Literature Kenya chapter has been unveiled! Below are details from the NBDCK website. Congratulations to the nominees, and for those who didn't make it - lets keep the literary fire burning.

| NOMINEES FOR THE 2012 BURT AWARD FOR AFRICAN LITERATURE COMPETITION |
The National Book Development Council of Kenya (NBDCK) in collaboration with the Canadian Organization for Development through Education (CODE) is pleased to announce the following as the nominees for the 2012 Burt Award for African Literature following the manuscripts submitted in 2011:
- Edward Mwangi - The Delegates
- Anthony Mugo - Never Say Die
- Ngumi Kibera - The Devil’s Hill
Please note that the order of these names as they appear above has no relationship with the ranking of the Award. The ranking will be made known at a later date. The NBDCK wishes to congratulate these nominees and also thank all those who took part in the competition through submission of manuscripts in 2011.
